
Argentine Tango -
Beginning Argentine Tango class provides a solid foundation in the six basic elements of this dance from
which all Intermediate and advanced movement stems from. An intense, in-depth eight week study of these
basic elements will provide any dancer with the tools to achieve any desired level of accomplishment. The
beginning course is required in order to participate in any Intermediate or Advanced class at Club Dance.
Bolero -
Bolero is one of the most beautiful, graceful, romantic dances ever created, danced to very slow Rumba music
and counted Slow, Quick, Quick. The idea of Bolero is a little like a game of yes, no… come here, go away…
I love you, I love you not.
Cha Cha -
This famous Latin dance with its sexy hip movements is often danced to upbeat top 40 hits such as Santana's
'Smooth', Pink's 'Get This Party Started', and Christina Aquilera's 'Lady Marmalade'. Cha Cha is a very
versatile social dance for weddings, Salsa clubs, Country Western clubs, ballroom events, and more.
Beginners (bronze) Foxtrot -
Beginning (bronze) foxtrot is a great dance for the first time dance student. Simple patterns and easy to hear
beats and rhythms allow for beginning dancers to learn how to walk to music. While building a foundation
for balance, posture, and timing which is an essential element for all dances.
From classic Foxtrot songs like Frank Sinatra's 'The Way You Look Tonight' to Nat and Natalie Cole's
romantic 'Unforgettable'. Foxtrot is a great dance for beginners, it feels like a stroll in the park… with some
rhythm thrown in.
Advanced Foxtrot -
More commonly refered to as Silver or Gold standard, this level teaches students patterns and
techniques which enables them to "glide" gracefully around the dance floor. These advanced
patterns seem to connect with no beginning or end, giving the illusion of "bodies in flight".
This class requires a solid foundation in beginning (bronze) level Foxtrot.
Hustle -
Made popular in the 1970's during the disco music craze, this easy to learn dance can be fun for
the beginner or advanced dancer. It is designed around a simple single pattern. A variety of
loops, turns, and passes make this high energy, up-tempo dance an easy learning experience as
well as a good workout.
Merengue -
Hot! Hot! Hot! It is a very easy dance for beginners, probably the easiest dance you will ever
learn. The Merengue basic is danced as a walking step with a step taken on every beat of music.
While hip movement is a must for Merengue, the amount of hip movement varies with personal
preference.
Night Club Two Step -
This is an up-tempo romantic slow dance that combines the characteristics of several dances. It
is danced to popular top 40 songs such as 'Lady in Red' and 'On the Wings of Love'.
Rumba -
Many of the movements and actions of Rumba seem to have a romantic meaning with this slow
Latin dance that emphasizes the hips in telling a tale of love. It has an infectious rhythm that
has been used by many musicians.
Salsa -
Salsa is the rage! As evidenced by recent commercials, advertisers have found this hot Latin
dance sells. Salsa lover are very fortunate, as Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York are
hot spots for Salsa, there are plenty of great Latin clubs and awesome dancers. Salsa with its
sexy hip movements along with the flashy turns and spins is one of the most sensual, energetic
dances you will learn.
Samba -
Samba is a Latin dance with its origins in Brazilian carnival dances. It is danced to lively
upbeat music. Carmen Miranda is generally credited with bringing the Brazilian rhythms to the
United States in 1939.
Swing - East Coast Swing -
The very popular East Coast Swing is characterized by an up-tempo, carefree, relaxed style that
is easily adaptable to a wide range of tempos from moderately slow to very fast music. Often
known as the Jitterbug, the Swing with its fun spins and intricate patterns is a very versatile
dance going equally well with Big Band (Glenn Miller -In the Mood), rock-and-roll (Elvis
Presley - Jailhouse Rock) , many Motown songs, top 40 hits, and all time favorite 'Rock Around
The Clock'. Whatever your music preference, swing is one of the most exciting partner dances
you will ever learn!
Swing - West Coast Swing -
West Coast Swing is a very interpretive dance characterized by slinky hip movements and flashy
spins. Danced to a wide variety of music from rhythm-and-blues to top 40 hits. We recommend
that dancers reach a basic level of dance before learning the more complicated West Coast Swing.
Viennese Waltz -
Formerly a court dance of aristocrats from Austria, this is the fastest of the Waltz tempos. With
its smaller smooth turns, dancers seem to glide across the floor with grace and ease.
Waltz -
The romantic, graceful waltz is the perfect dance for a wedding dance or special occasions.
Developed in Germany in the 17th Century, it might be the most popular dance of all times.
Waltz music has a very distinctive one-two-three tempo. The dance is characterized by rise and
fall which gives a smooth, graceful movement around the dance floor.

Ballroom Dances - Nothing equals the elegance of a couple gliding across the floor to the sounds of a beautiful Waltz, Foxtrot, or the enticing Tango. These are considered classic smooth ballroom dances that can be learned in a short period of time and are the most common dances found at wedding receptions and social events.
Latin Dances - The passion of the Latin American culture is reflected in a variety of high energy and intoxicating dances such as: Salsa, Merengue, Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, and Bolero.
