We need one!
The fusion Belly Dance classes will be taught by the troupe members of Kismet:
Angie Hughart, Laurie Gandee, and Sherry Smith.

Fusion Belly Dance is a combination of many different styles of Belly Dance and is
not limited to any one particular style. You will begin with the basics either as a
review or to learn them for the first time. Then as the class progresses you can begin
to learn to layer your moves and turn them into combinations or continue to practice
the basics until you are comfortable in moving on.

Belly Dancing developed around the way a womans body moves naturally and can
bring out the beauty of the feminine form of all ages, body shapes and sizes. It
teaches muscle isolations and can help increase your flexibility and muscle strength.
It provides a great way to exercise while learning a fun way to creatively express
yourself.

Leatha Pelzel is a Zumba instructor in the Charleston area. She
was certified in May 2008 with Doug and Joan Jones at
StudioZumbaOhio. She fell in love with Zumba after her first class
and has been hooked ever since. She attends certification
workshops regularly, including the creator of Zumba, Beto Perez,
and the "Zumba Queen" Tanya Beardsley. Leatha was recently
certified in Zumba Toning.

She lives in Charleston with her fiancé Ben and their son Miles.
Hello, My name is Shirley Jackson. I am a Charleston native, born and raised on Charleston's west
side. I am the youngest of three girls. I have danced most of my life. I took lessons as a child from
Mary Lou Creel and BJ's Dance Studio. Later, I competed under Michael Harris. I have also danced
locally with Charleston Light Opera Guild.

I love Zumba! I began taking classes in Northern Virginia; Zumba had not yet reached Charleston. I
was hooked immediately! I took my first certification in June 2007. I began teaching Zumba in
Charleston in October of 2007.
I was the first instructor in the area and watching it grow in the area
like wild fire has been amazing! In the past 18 months I have completed
seven (7) Zumba
workshops. I am certified in both levels 1 & 2 as well as Zumba Toning. Of the 7 workshops I
attended, 4 of them were personally taught by
Beto, the creator of Zumba .

I am very fortunate to have been able to teach and travel to the workshops. I also still travel
to Northern Virginia, where my sister is a certified Zumba instructor as well, taking in every
opportunity to learn and enjoy Zumba. I must add that my mother is also a certified Zumba Gold
instructor.

Zumba has changed my life and I love sharing it with others. Zumba is for everyone; all ages, skill
levels, male or female. I encourage everyone to give it a try. I love Zumba but I can't do it without
you so, come on...
Ditch the workout and Join the PARTY.
Hi, I am Wendy Williams.  I was born in Clarksburg and my first memories of dance as a child  was
dancing behind my brother while he lay in the floor watching American Bandstand in the mid to late
sixties.  After moving to Charleston at age nine I took ballet and jazz dance lessons at Carolyn's and
later BJ's Dance Studio.  Over the years I have taught dance aerobics, step aerobics and even a
little country line dancing.  I worked for The Cosmopolitan Club that was once in Charleston, and
later for WV Fitness.  Now in my 40's my love for fitness and dance has been rekindled by Zumba!  I
was first certified by Zumba Fitness in June of 2008. I am now certified in both basic levels of
Zumba, Zumba Toning, and Zumbatomic (kids.)  And possibly more to come!

I live in Nitro with my wonderful husband Steve and our loving and adorable dog Roxie.  I also work
full time at Verizon and I'm working on finishing up my Master's Degree in Business thru Wheeling
Jesuit University.

I offer one of the most unique Zumba classes in the valley as I incorporate a little extra fun with belly
dance wraps, and a little extra toning with Zumba Toning Sticks.  There is absolutely nothing like
Zumba and most people who try it, are hooked and can't get enough!  For more information on any
of our instructors visit Zumba.com.

Kimberly Lapsley
"Hi! My name is Kimberly Lapsley and I want to invite everyone to join me for
ZUMBA fitness classes at Club Dance on Mondays & Thursdays at 6:30 pm!
I am currently certified to teach zumba in levels "1" and "2".  I can guarantee that you
will leave my class drenched in sweat and glad that you came!
I began teaching ZUMBA in August 2009, and I've had great success with my
classes ever since. My classes began at Abundant Life Ministries in Charleston WV,
and eventually expanded to holding additional classes at the Martin Luther King Jr.
Community Center. That class out grew the church facility and is now at Club Dance!
I am very passionate about ZUMBA fitness because of the energetic atmosphere,
It is not your "ordinary workout".  It inspires people to feel good and a sense of self
confidence takes over. You don't realize how hard you are working, even when you are
pouring sweat, because the workout is so much fun! You start looking good, and
people notice it. I've been inspired through ZUMBA to take better care of my health,
and motivate my family and friends to do the same. I only have a few experiences with
a background in dancing, as a high school cheerleader, and captain of a dance team;
but even without any history of any form of dance, anyone can participate in ZUMBA
fitness. Move your body, feel the music, and just HAVE FUN! Ditch the workout... Join
the party! Join us at Club Dance for ZUMBA with Kim!"
